Woman Burned in Meth Lab Explosion

OLIVE, HILL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A small explosion and fire Wednesday morning sends one woman to the hospital with burns to 30% of her body according to police.
The Olive Hill Police Department tells us that just after 4 a.m. the fire broke out at an apartment at Cold Springs Town Homes.

It's believed a meth lab was operating in the apartment that caught fire.

WSAZ.com was told that apartments on each side have been evacuated. Kentucky State Police have a meth clean up crew headed to the scene.

The woman who was burned was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital. No word on her condition.

Police are questioning three people about the incident.

UPDATE 4/28 1:30 p.m.

OLIVE HILL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Three people have been arrested in connection with an explosion and fire at an apartment in Olive Hill, Ky.

The fire, caused by a meth lab in the apartment, was reported shortly after 4 a.m. at Cold Springs Town Homes.

Olive Hill Police Chief, Bobby Hall tells WSAZ.com that investigators have arrested Timothy McClurg, 29, Boyd Littleton, III, 18, and Charles Stevens, 18. Each is charged with manufacturing meth and assault.

Hall says Jacquline McClurg, 26, was burned in the fire. She was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The Chief says the McClurg's are husband and wife, and lived in the apartment where the fire happened.
