Law enforcement officers in Logan County found two children Wednesday at a house where a meth lab was found.
Police were led to the residence on J. Montgomery Road about three miles south of Auburn after responding to a report of a meth lab dump site along the road.
According to the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, agents cleaning the dump site at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday noticed a vehicle repeatedly driving by the location.
After cleaning the site, agents followed the vehicle to the residence, discovering a meth lab there, according to the task force.
Two children, ages 3 and 1, were found inside the residence and a dead cat was found on the porch.
The State Department of Protection and Permanency responded and removed the children from the home. They were eventually taken to Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville for treatment of respiratory problems, according to the task force.
James C. "Chopper" King, 25, and Angela M. Crump, 31, who both live in the J. Montgomery Road residence, were arrested in connection with the incident and were each charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Additionally, King was charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia in an improper container and manufacturing methamphetamine, while Crump was charged with complicity to manufacturing methamphetamine.
King and Crump were both lodged in the Logan County Detention Center, each under a $25,000 bond.
